GKM’s Beautiful Britain Travel Giveaway (with 6 Prizes!)

To celebrate the upcoming December 2015 launch of pre-orders for my print journal A Year in the UK & Ireland, I’ve collaborated with five British companies to put together this huge, packed-with-prizes competition.

From luggage made in Cumbria to sunglasses designed in Derbyshire, this collection of prizes showcases the creative talent coming out of Britain today, and is ideal for any travel fanatic. There will be only one winner, and they’ll receive everything on this list! Best early Christmas present ever, right?

Have a read through the prizes list to learn more about these fantastic companies and what they’re giving away for the competition, plus what I’m offering too. Entry couldn’t be easier – head to the bottom of the page to find out more and after a few clicks you’ll be all set.

Entries close at midnight GMT on November 30th. Good luck!

THE PRIZES

A copy of A Year in the UK & Ireland

Things are really coming together for my print journal A Year in the UK & Ireland – the cover was released earlier this month, and the articles are being brought to life with some truly gorgeous design. Comprised of 20 long-form travel narratives about British and Irish culture, food, landscapes, and more, A Year in the UK & Ireland shines a light on specific snapshots of these two countries and is designed to inspire your own exploration.

For this competition, I’m giving away a copy of the journal – the winner will be one of the first people in the world to receive it!

Huge Future Map from The Future Mapping Company

I came across The Future Mapping Company around five or so years ago, and I can confidently say I’ve not found a map company like them since. I personally own one of their world maps, and I love the alternative colours and slightly metallic style. The brand, based in London, maintains a sharp focus on creating sleek, colourful, and accurate maps that cover a range of locations – from the British Isles to Europe, the USA, specific cities, and the world.

They’ve contributed this Huge Future Map for the competition! I mean, just look at. I don’t think I need to say anything else…

Notebooks from Martha and Hepsie

Martha and Hepsie are a sister team that create fun homewares, gifts, and stationary. Their bold prints –available on coasters, pillows, wrapping paper, lamp shades, and anything else in between – bring a quirky touch to people’s homes.

Based in Devon and Sheffield, they’re just the down-to-earth kind of company I love to support. They’ve kindly offered a bundle of three notebooks to the competition; with stags, puffins, and magpies on! Perfect for keeping your travel notes in.

Sunglasses by Moats

Light-years away from the tacky Ray Ban rip-offs you find in markets the world over, Moat House Eyewear produce quality hardwood sunglasses, all handmade in Derbyshire. Founders Sam and Nick Clarke believe in creating an eco-friendly and durable product, which makes Moat House Eyewear one of the best wooden sunglasses manufacturers around. As well as being kind to the environment, Moats are designed with a vintage feel, making them even more unique.

The winner of the competition will receive a pair from their Squire range in Walnut wood, pictured below.

Luggage from Chapman Bags

Going strong since the 1980s, Chapman produces a wide range of bags and travel accessories in Cumbria, North England. Originally starting out with fishing and shooting bags, Chapman have since broadened their collection to include holdalls, shoulder bags, backpacks and more, while still maintaining their signature look. All of their products are made in their factory in Carlisle, which is also where original founder John Chapman still lives today.

Chapman have kindly contributed this Cordwainer Tote, which is great for days out, overnight stays, or weekends away. The bag has multiple interior and exterior pockets (and even a padded interior pocket for your precious gadgets) and the simple, sleek design makes it suitable for men or women.

Please note that the bag pictured is navy, but the winner will receive the product in black.

Illustration from Clare Corfield Carr

Clare Corfield Carr is an illustrator based in North Wales, and she’s quite the jack of all trades. Fashion illustration, editorial illustration, and graphic design are all on her repertoire of skills, and she hand-draws all of her designs before formatting them digitally. Check out her Etsy shop – it’s full of fun prints and products.

Clare is giving away one of her prints of the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. As she’s based nearby, it’s a place close to her heart, and I’ve also seen it with my own eyes as I passed through Snowdonia National Park on my travels to Anglesey. Who doesn’t love a good picture of a mountain, eh?
